Two CDs for PCs which might be of interest
1. An Introduction to Roman Coins - New Enlarged Edition, 2011 - Still ONLY £5
This CD was written as a structured introduction to the coins of the Roman Empire and is illustrated by photos of over 250 coins from our past and present stock. There are sections on the coin denominations, understanding the obverse (heads side) and the inscriptions used by earlier and later Emperors, the different types of reverse design, together with suggestions for collecting coins and also brief biographies of the Emperors of the first 200 years and also of those associated with Roman Britain.
The illustrations below (other than the CD cover and CD) are photographs of the software running on my computer screen. Although these screenshots are not of high quality, they will give you a good indication of the contents and the style of the CD.
2. Hadrian's Wall - £10
This CD was written for all with an interest in Hadrian's Wall but with little or no background knowledge.
It is illustrated by over 300 full colour photographs and by dozens of maps, diagrams and reconstructions - many of them drawn over the photos of the present day remains. It includes full background information, clear advice on where to go and what to see. There are sections on the museums along the Wall and brief biographies of the Emperors associated with Roman Britain, together with a sophisticated search facility.
The illustrations below are all actual photographs of the software running on my computer screen. They will give you a good indication of the contents and the style of the CD.
The CD is based on the author's 20 years experience of leading groups along the Wall and the text has been checked by a leading academic expert.
An educational version of this CD is available, allowing schools/colleges to install the software on one or more computer networks or on several stand-alone PCs. This costs only £30 including a full site and network licence.
