Harbour Side is a roomy two-bedroom flat (sleeps 3) on the first floor of an architect-designed development, overlooking the fishing harbour at Maryport on the Solway Coast and alongside the Cumbrian Coastal Way, ideal for walkers and cyclists and those with an interest in wild flowers and bird watching (and sunsets).

Maryport is a planned Georgian town with an unexcavated roman fort and a superb Roman Museum. The small town also has a Norman motte, a modern Marina, an award-winning Aquarium, a Maritime Museum and other attractions, including indoor climbing and caving at the new Wave Centre. There is sea fishing from the pier, a links golf course and an indoor karting centre.

 
Maryport is within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and on the edge of two World Heritage Sites -
 The Lake District and Hadrian's Wall. Within easy reach are Wastwater and the Western Lake District, dramatic Hardknott Pass with its Roman Fort, the 18th century port of Whitehaven, the cliffs of St Bees Head, the unique Viking Cross and other Viking remains at Gosforth, Ravenglass with its narrow gauge railway and Roman Bath House, historic Muncaster Castle with its rhododendron displays and owl sanctuary . . . and much, much more.

Keswick and Derwentwater 'Queen of the English Lakes' is about 20 miles away
Carlisle with its mediaeval Castle, 12th century Cathedral and award-winning Tullie House Museum is 25 miles away.
Just over 50 miles away, the fabulous Vindolanda Roman Settlement and nearby Hadrian's Wall make a good day out.

Harbour Side is available for full weeks, with change-over on Fridays only.
